Talan's Playing Soccer!

Well Talan started soccer about a month ago and he loves it. He started games last Saturday and did a wonderful job! He definetly knows what is going on and the object of the game. He actually ended up scoring 9 goals last weekend. This weekend he scored 4. He is doing a great job!
This first picture is of him right after he scored his first goal. He was so excited and proud of himself!
This was at half time. He was getting some advice from Dad.
Another goal...hehe!
After the game the kids line up and tell the other team good job and then we have a tunnel for the kids to go through.
Mr. Soccer posing for a picture after the game. He just looks so darn cute...and handsome!

It's a...

We found out earlier this week that Talan will be having a baby brother. He is so excited and so are we. Talan is determined that we are going to name him "George of the Jungle." That is what he refers to him as when others talk to him about his baby brother. I am 100% certain that this will not be the name we choose for our baby boy. We are all very excited and anxious to meet him!

Baby Olmstead

We find out Monday whether Talan will have a baby brother or sister. Justin and I are taking Talan with us when we find out. He is determined it is a "bruder." He will argue with anybody who tells him different. We are anxious to see his reaction with whatever the doctor says!

Back To School

Well, it is officially back to school today. Justin and I went back to work today. It was hard getting back into the morning routine this morning. We have enjoyed sitting around in the morning with Talan and not really getting ready for the day until about 10:00. Justin is still the Focus Room Facilitator at Scott this year but just graduated so there is a possibility for a job change. If that happens, it will be hard since we have worked together in the same building the past four years. I am still teaching Kindergarten at Scott as well.
Talan will start official Pre-School next Tuesday. It is so weird to think that our little boy is already starting Pre-School. He is ready though. We went school clothes shopping and he is so proud of his new shoes. We also got him his first pair of soccer cleats since he also starts soccer August 23rd. It is going to be an exciting and busy couple of weeks but we are so excited!

Bar - B - Que

A couple weeks ago we went to the Newkirks for a bar-b-que. We had a great time. There were three other couples there and each of them had kids that were around Talan's age so he had a great time too. The were given rides in the tractor, drove the toy gator, swam, and he and Harlee even had a little rock band at the end of the night. Talan and Harlee playing us a song by their rock band.
Talan drove the gator right into their corn. He took out about four stalks.

The kids driving the gator. Harlee always rode shotgun when the boys were driving.

Getting a ride in the tractor!

T - Ball

This Spring Talan played T-Ball. He did a great job! It was a six week program that ran like learning stations and the final week they played a little game. Talan had so much fun and is looking forward to next season. He will be starting soccer August 28th so he is anxious to get started with his next sport!

A lot of Catch Up

So, I realize that it has been like 2 months since I have posted anything. It has been really crazy around here so I will try to catch you up. We have a lot more pictures but I will just post a few of each thing.

A couple weeks ago, my Aunt kept two kids for a family friend for the weekend and we went to Chuck E. Cheese with them. Ellie is about a 1 1/2 years older than Talan and they had a lot of fun playing together.
Riding the horse together.
Going down the hill when they were riding the roller coaster ride.
Going up the hill. I love the look on their faces. They aren't sure what was going to happen next. They ended up riding this ride about 3 times in a row.
Driving the car. They each took a turn driving.
This was Easter Sunday. We went to Lexington, Nebraska and spent the weekend at the lake cabin with Justin's side of the family.

Talan and Aunt Heather. We went to see her new place.
For Talan's birthday we took him to Jumpin Jax's over Spring Break. We let him take one friend and he chose his girlfriend, Aubrie. They played for about 2 hours, went to McDonald's for lunch, and were both asleep about 10 minutes after we left McDonald's. We wore them out.
Justin gave both of them rides on his back on the zipline. They eventually did it by themselves.

Going down the slide.
Justin and I also took Talan to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch on his actual birthday since it fell on Spring Break.

Justin is excited for Chuck E. Cheese too!
I just love this picture of him!
Reading a book.
This is what Talan does when we watch American Idol. Can we say "Future American Idol?"

Birthday Party

Even though Talan's birthday is April 1st, we had his party yesterday. I can't believe that he is turning 3! When we took him to the party store he chose "Hot Wheels."
Unfortunately, Justin's side of the family was not able to get here due to the random snow fall yesterday on the first day of Spring. Crazy!
Here are some pictures from his party.
Kathryn and Jeremy with Talan.Present time! One of his favorite gifts was fro, Aunt Jill. He got him a real bat, glove, baseball, and even baseball cleats. He loved them! He wore his baseball cleats all day!
Talan with his baseball bat.
His matching baseball mitt and glove.
Here is Jeremy putting on the baseball cleats and my Dad putting the glove on. We had to stop opening gifts and take care of all the baseball gear.

Talan's final gift was a bike from Justin and I. He was so surprised and excited when he saw it. We were just as excited when we saw his reaction. So, we bundled him all up and sent him outside with Justin in snow to ride his new bike. H edidn't get to ride it very long but he was able to do it!
Cake Time!
When we were trying to take a picture of Talan with the cake Jeremy came over and stuck a fork in the cake and took some icing. Talan didn't quite understand what was going on so he went ahead and started to lick the cake so this is the best picture we have of him with the cake.
Enjoying a cut piece of cake!
Jeremy got Talan some basketball shorts and a tank top and he had to put it on so we let him. This is Talan showing everyone his new baseball shoes.
Justin being silly.
Uncle Chris and Talan out in the snow again playing baseball this time.

Doesn't Talan look good in this Handy Manny hat, work goggles, and tank top on a snowy cold day. Hehe! It was his birthday.
About 7:00, everyone decided that we wanted to go to IHOP for some dinner. So he are just some pictures from there.

Talan and Daddy before the funfilled day came to an end. They read some books, said their prayers, and finally got to bed about 9:30.
Thanks to everyone for making Talan's day so special. He had a wonderful time and couldn't ask for better people to look up to as he grows up. You all are so great to him and us. Thanks for everything!
